Mick pressing his palm against Vars' chest just over where his heart was. He then took a drink and sighed happily just thinking about Ziggy for a moment or two. His mind drifting due to the alcohol.
"Ziggy is such a strong girl. So fucking strong he could bitch sass any thug or anyone. We'll have each other's back for the end of time. Well, as long as I can still do the things like play guitar and be his boyfriend. Even as an old man in slippers I can still slug some bastard in the face."
"Hjerte matter most." Vars could easily agree with the Brit on that subject.
Vars listened and nodded. "Hope have each other long time." He sighed heavily. "Thought same Trine but Ziggy better woman than wife. He not... not have English.. forræder."
"Hjerte? Oh---does that mean heart? Sounds like it that's all. I get what you mean though."
Mick was trying to at least understand some of the Scandis when they used their own language since most of the time he just offered a blank expression. Then again, Mick's thick English Northern accent must sound foreign to most of the Hammers. Even drunk the Brit nodded and smiled as if through a blissful haze.
"A very long time. Sorry about your ex being a total bitch. That's not fair, mate."
"Yes." Vars nodded. "Sometimes not remember English word then hear and know."
The language barrier wasn't that bad but sometimes he was at a loss. That fact annoying him more than usual since there were a lot of English speakers around now and he wanted to be understood.
"Eh. She bitch. Try not care or think." That was the truth of the matter. He didn't want to care about it but sometimes he still did.
"You're doing fine, mate. I can understand you well enough. It's when you and the other Scandis go full tilt I'm just staring looking daft at you all."
The Spiders not being able to speak Norwegians, Danish, Finnish or Swedish. Understanding British accents must be tough for the Hammers too though and Mick knew this. As for Trine? She was an utter cow.
"Forget her. She isn't worth a thought. Let's get drunk and think of the good times ahead, eh? The tour and our company."
Mick clinked his glass against Vars' one and took another gulp.
"Spend years together. Now speak all Scandinavian. Sometimes hard follow Rik and Aarne when speak all language together." Even Vars got lost sometimes when Rik and Aarne started rambling quickly about something in more than one language.
Vars clinked glasses and downed his drink to pour another. Forgetting Trine existed was hard but the guitarist was right, better not to think about her. "Tour long. Glad for good bands to travel."
"I bet you blokes understand each other better in your own language than trying to understand us Brits. Accents are hard too. I try to understand Hunter when he's with Gilly but it goes over my head. He calls me a----what was it? Blomma? Whatever that is. I can't tell if he's being a cheeky bastard or he's complimenting me. Gilly seems to understand some of what Hunter says to him though. I think our tartmouth is learning the lingo."
Gilly speaking Swedish. Whatever next. That's all everyone needed---the tart tarting off in Swedish as well as English. Drinking from his glass, Mick nodded and smiled to Vars.
"Yes. The tour is long and it's good that it is so all the lads can spend time with their loved ones."
"Rik speak English good." Vars himself has a thick accent that probably makes his broken English even harder to understand for the Brits. He and Viktor had problems sometimes. "Call all Blomma. Mean flower like Brit use dear or some other words."
It was a friendly endearment, especially from Hunter. "Viktor learn. Teach Ziggy my language."
Vars didn't want to think about this. He was already getting so attached to Viktor and also not wanting to leave the bandmates he had been living with for years. "Most bands look for end of tour. We want not end, not go home."
"Yeah, you're right about that. The Dane does speak really good English and Billy seems to understand him alright. Those two are the Terror Twins, aren't they? At least that's what I've heard some call them. Cheeky buggers."
Mick smiled as Vars explained about Hunter's nicknames he gave people. It made sense and Gilly seemed to love the heeled boots of the Swede.
"Blomma means flower? That would make sense. The bloke is always calling us flowers or some other such name. You're teaching Zig your language too? How is that going? I can see Hunter sitting down with Ziggy too teaching him Swedish too."
All the Hammers teaching the Brits their languages. A cultural exchange for sure. Mick didn't think he'd be good at learning a foreign language but if Viktor could do it surely he could too? At the mention of the tour ending the guitarist's green eyes softened.
"I don't think any of us want the tour to end, mate. We've got lads with their hearts attached to their Northern lovers."
"Rik troublemaker, think taught Aarne be more one when they date when Hammers first together." Vars smiled though because he loved the boys, even Billy because he could see how happy the Brit made him.
"Your girl learn fast." Vars says with a smile. He thought Stardust was very good with languages but then he had heard Tom speak several too. Maybe it ran in the family? "Stardust learn all language. Say better speak in own language. Agree. Easier understand."
As far as Vars was concerned it made sense for everyone to learn their partner's language. The Hammers all spoke the Brit language so they could learn the Northern ones. Perhaps the others had an easier time than Viktor because their partners were better with English.
