Joe just held onto his Fin and pressed kisses along his neck as he listened and hoped Aarne would calm down. As for Dean? The guy was into the supernatural and this caused the bassist to shrug and shake his head. The only spirits he knew about were ones you could drink out of a bottle. As for Hunter? He was taking an interest in Dean and the whole supernatural question because he was also a pagan like the rest of the Scandinavians. Gilly looked a little freaked out and just nuzzled into his Swede's hair and said nothing.
Then, there was a knock at the door and Joe turned to see who it might be.
The door pushed open slowly as a young man pushed his head in slightly; his head was a mass of long curly hair and his face showed a sheepish smile.
"Uh---can I come in? Someone said Damien was in here with you guys."
"What you mean isn't the only thing important." Rik's gaze drops to his feet for so many reasons, and not just upsetting Dean. "It's bad for someone like Aarne and I.. I get defensive." Self blame for anything going wrong was easy for the Dane, especially around older men. "What his people think and the rest of the world..." Rik puts a hand on Dean, right over where that mark is, intentionally, because it doesn't bother Rik. "It wasn't smooth when the bands got together either because of all the history no one knew. There's a lot of ... trauma." He can finally look at Dean's face again. "You're doing better than me and Viktor, we got into a fist fight in the alley."
Rik doesn't know why the question catches him as off guard as it does but there's a long pause and a moment of panic in the Dane's expression before he can speak. "Gods, angels.... I think Hunter and Viktor have met the devil, Fenrir, mm... Zombies, Aarne knows about Vironsusi. I spent some time with a person that has 6 eyes. Uh......" Rik wasn't social, not like the others, so he is mostly talking about what he's heard from the others. "Do giant living robots count?.... and..." Rik glances at Damien, nervously then back at Dean. "I'm not sure what I should tell you. Outing Aarne's gender and ability when he would tell you himself isn't the same as people who don't want anyone to know. I guess there's other things too." Rik could think of several things; Ziggy's mother was definitely in some uncanny valley and then Jack's eye, whatever that was and whatever Damien was, but the guitarist felt those were personal things. "Have you met Ziggy yet?"
As if on cue the door opened and the Angels' drummer was peeking in. Like Rik, he's young and they have sort of bonded over that even if they don't know each other too well yet. Rik points when Zack asks after Damien who is sitting on the floor still, watching carefully, though his neutral expression brightens some when he sees Zack at the door. The tall Dog gets to his feet to go talk to the drummer. He's not showing it but the panic in the room had unnerved him and he's feeling uneasy so this is a welcome distraction.
Rik turns to Dean. "That's Zack. The Angels' drummer."
The door opens and Dean can't help but look out of curiosity. The new guy to the room is another youngster, and he nods in acknowledgement of the name. When they're looked over at by Zack, do Rik can point him out, he gets a small wave.
"It's family, you got a right to be defensive." He's not blind to the dynamic there, with or without being told, at all. Takes one to know one, as they say, even if his are... yep, moving on. Even mentally, swiftly moving on. The hand going on the mark kind of sends Dean's mind into flip-flop mode. There had been when Cas had jerked his sleeve up to expose it, but even including that not one time had anybody else had touched it. It doesn't do anything, of course, it just takes him by surprise a little bit, especially after all the kick off they just had over the damn thing. It earns Rik a small smile, cautious but genuine. The comment about Rik and Viktor earns him a quiet chuckle. "And that doesn't surprise me. Reckon Viktor could start a fight in an empty room, given half the chance."
There's both amusement and bemusement as Rik rattles off the list, but probably not for the reasons that he's thinking. "Right. Fucking Nexus, man. And don't worry about it, it's enough." It's both a good and a bad thing, although he's glad he found the nexus after he cleared (most) of his personal bias' rather than before; mark or no. He's also aware they're being listened to out here as much as he's listening in on the room. "Guess I need to get out of the habit of asking that question, huh? It'll never not be weird to think I could probably explain what a hunter is and skip the whole the truth is out there spiel, though. Even if where I'm from that ain't such a good thing considering more's out there willing to eat you than make friends."
Does it say much about the weirdness that is his life that he kind of forgets it's a thing when he's not actively in it? Probably. Although it helps he's almost consistently distracted. He's half a fifth in, and the alcohol buffer is starting to kick in and help a lot with the talking thing, even if he's still feeling far from comfortable again. He's doubting that'll happen tonight.
"Not met Ziggy yet, heard a lot about him though. A lot. Did meet Jack though, and he's a trip." And he clearly means that in a good way. He's fond, despite only meeting the guy once.
Zack wasn't sure what conversation he'd walked into but he spotted Damien immediately and then Rik talking to some strange guy. There was Hunter with his tarty drummer in his lap, Aarne with Joe holding onto him. Feeling a little shy, Zack offered a small wave to the new guy and guessed he was a friend of the band. Pushing his hair away from his face the Brit nodded to Joe, who gave his drummer a stuck out tongue and a peace sign. Of course. How smashed were Joe and Aarne? To be honest they didn't look the like usual crazy pair like normal. Maybe it was because of their guest.
"Uh, hey. Nice to meet you. I'm Zack "The Hellmaster." That's my Angel's nickname anyway."
The guy sounded American and this didn't surprise Zack that he would be since they were touring New York right now. Talk of Ziggy got the drummer smiling since everyone knew the red-haired singer. Then there was Jack. Zack adored the tall heeled Dog leader because of how friendly and warm he was. That and the fact he introduced Damien to him.
"Jack's a really nice bloke. He introduced Damien to me."
He wanted to make that a point as he shyly took Damien's hand and squeezed it. Everyone seemed to be drinking spirits and the drummer was a little nervous since he fancied a soda right now.
"Consider this the trial by fire like I had with Viktor." The Dane's upbeat spirit is taking over after the turmoil. If Hunter was Mom of the band, Rik was the caretaker always looking to comfort and get people to smile when shit was down. The comment about Viktor gets a smirk from the guitarist. "Viktor's calmer now. He's got, I don't know, five inches on Vars but I don't think he was ready for someone who will get right in his face. I'm not sure Tom's happy about the hell of them running together" Rik motioned at the scorch marks on the wall across the way. "... but the rest of us are."
Rik considers what Dean is saying with diverted eyes and offers. "Better to explain, maybe. I know hunters in Damien's world means snipers or something from the government. I know Gloria comes from a bad place too but she doesn't talk about it. You can just see it in her eyes when you ask about home."
Reserved and introverted, Rik watched people and listened when he wasn't pulling pranks. "Ziggy gave Aarne the crawling feeling at first too. There's something about the singer. It sounds crazy but he doesn't seem 'real'? Jack has some of it too. Did Jack talk about...."
Rik trails off when he notices a harsh and disapproving look from Damien. Swallowing he tries to keep the conversation up. "Damien is Jack's second and I heard he has a temper like Viktor."
Damien followed Zack over because the drummer had ahold of his hand. "I'm not that bad!"
He tries to brush off the comment which makes Rik laugh. "The gun?"
Damien shrugs. "They deserved it and I didn't shoot anyone, only flashed some steel."
Through the banter Rik smiles at the two. They were such an odd couple with the drummer that made even Rik look outgoing with the rough, extroverted and dangerous Dog. Damien turns to Dean and offers a hand.
"We didn't get much of an introduction in the chaos, but this is calm for a night here." No one was physically fighting, hauled to jail, or undressed. A little screaming and panic was on the quiet end of the spectrum.
"Hey, Zack. Ditto. Name's Dean." He responds to the introduction with warmth and ease, shaking Damien's offered hand as well. "Pretty much what I've heard, nobody has a bad word to say about the guy that has met him."
He notices the look between Damien and Rik and puts out there after he's done chuckling at the banter: "I know what Jack was willing to share while we were sharing a drink. No more, no less." It does the job of saying he's okay with not knowing more... even if he is curious as all hell. But that's okay because it makes it the perfect time to elaborate, seeing as how he was going to anyway and things were finally calm again.
"Hunters in my place refer to the guys who keep people safe from things that go bump in the night. Vamps, ghosts and poltergeists, vetala, angels, demons, zombies, you name it and it's ready to maim, eat, or just generally fuck with you. Except the giant sentient robots, that was a new one on me. Anyway. Me, my brother, and a few others who are around make it our business to stop their business, if you see what I'm saying. And me and Sammy? We're the best at what we do." It's not any kind of bragging, it's a firm confidence in the knowledge that he's not wrong. They'd lost a large amount of the biggest Hunters in the business, and of the ones currently running, that he an Sam know of, they were both the longest running and stopped the biggest names in hazards to humanity.
They'd made mistakes, but who hasn't? Even with the guilt of lost friends and family that threatened to drown him, as far as skill goes, he and Sam were unmatched and he knew it.
"If this is a quiet night? I should've started partying with you years ago, holy shit." He is definitely feeling better about this whole mess, and easing back into himself.
Zack nodded and wondered what it was like to deal with the stuff Dean did. The supernatural with strange dangerous creatures. It was pretty terrifying really as he held onto Damien, nuzzling close into that long hair. Gilly whispered something into Hunter's ear as the Swede got up and took hold of his drummer's hand.
"Gilly wants to go back to our room now so I'll bid you all goodnight. Nice to meet you, blomma."
He offered Dean a wink before both Gilly and Hunter left the room to go back to their own bedroom to engage in intimacy more likely. That or get high as fuck on coke and get crazy. Either way, they had now gone and Joe blew a kiss towards Gilly just as he left, causing the blond tart to stick his tongue out before closing the door behind them. There was a moment of quiet before Joe giggled and bit on Aarne's ear playfully.
Then, another knock.
The door pushed open and in walked Mick with the bassist Weird. Both men had bottles of booze in their hands as they shut the door behind them. Obviously, the word had got around that the American was here in the room with the other band members and Damien.
"Hello. Thought me and Weird could add to the party. We've brought booze."
Mick wiggling his bottle of gin in the air and Weird waving his bottle of whiskey. Perfect. Joe smiled and was happy there was more booze. Yay!
"Ziggy is nice but I've heard some stories about him getting angry." Damien mentions and then laughs. "I can believe it. I work under Jack and they're near twins."
Damien had seen Jack do some vicious things in his time, only when needed. He's attentive to whomever is talking, learned instinct to watch body language and tone that comes out of being hunted constantly. The description of a hunter in Dean's world was different than the Ministry but the whole mess still didn't sit well. Then again, he hunted the Ministry now. Who was he to say anything at all.
"Giant sentient robots?" Damien asks Rik who nods. "You mean that one that turns into a car that Aarne and Joe had sex on top of drunk and then became friends with?" Damien had definitely heard that story from the crazy Fin.
Rik shrugs. "I think those terrors know a few of them. I saw them but I didn't talk to them."
Damien goes silent though as Dean goes on explaining what a hunter is and his family involvement. If everyone was coming out with the strangeness they carry tonight, Damien would join in. "Our totalitarian government bred and trained me to be a hunter before Jack pulled me from prison."
Thankfully, the topic is changing and there is Hunter and Gilly heading off to bed to interrupt it. Rik steps into the conversation laughing and asks Zack. "Did you see Vars up there? He disappeared to get something and never came back. Did Viktor derail him?"
It was a likely thing because they would share a drink and then things would stir up and... well there wasn't any crashing or screaming, nor calls about coming to break up a fight, so there was that. Rik waves to Mick and hears the stirring from the two crazy ones. Joe no doubt would come for the booze but Aarne has moved away and is digging in one of his suitcases for gods knew what. Rik peers around at him wondering since Aarne carried more shit around with him than Rik thought possible. It could be anything.
